The Beginning

"Let's do it! We'll put all our belongings into storage, buy a travel vehicle and travel the country."

My wife and I were engaged, getting married in August.

My future wife was used to my wild ideas, or was starting to see them. "It can't be done, we can't escape the "real world." We have bills to pay, and obligations to make. And both of our families are in the area."

We sat and did math, bought a 14 foot motor home. Now for those of you who don't know much about motor vehicles, 14 feet is small, we've only once seen one smaller.

It became faithfully know as "the Micro-Mini. It had a Chevy pick-up front, a small 4 cylinder. Above the cab was an overhang that was a bed. In the back was a 2 burner stove, a sink, the smallest bathroom in the world. It was about 3to 4 feet square. With just a toilet in it, and when you were sitting, your knees were either proped up against the door, or the door would be open if we got claustrophobia.

There was also a table against the back wall with a "bench on two sides of it. The table could be lowered to make a one-man bed. At 5foot 9 inches I could just stand up with about 2 inches to spare in the back.
