He wasn't the first though. Read up on the work Professor Kevin Warwick (University of Reading) was doing back in 1998

Hello:

Computer chips implantation is going to be the wave of the future as development in nanotechnology advances rapidly and that is going to make our lives a lot much more better, don't you think so? Wave your hand, and your door opens. No need to fumble for keys!

You guys are a riot.

I think this is one of those things where... if we polled the American population... a majority would say they would never install a computer chip in their hands.

I think history will show otherwise.

I'll let the early adopters work out the bugs and expose the health risks over the next few years... and I’ll probably "adopt" once the kinks are worked out.

The Christains are definatley going to have a hay day with their, "I told you so"

Revelations 13:16-17
"He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name."

Spooky prediction!!

Would you ever put a computer chip in your body?
Sure, why not? Dog breeders have been doing it for years and it's a great way to identify them if a pooch ever gets lost. (see http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dog+microchip&btnG=Google+Search )

I don't think there ever will be a way to infect the chip with a virus--especially if it's a read-only chip. If that were the case, would we already have viruses in the chips we give dogs?

I'd think it would be too easy to clone the RFID signal and thus "hack into" somebody's life. The technology just isn't secure enough yet.

I'd be more concerned with tracking. In the UK they are already moving towards tracking the movement of every car through a nationwide system of cameras hooked up to a database.

Also, what about choice? Will we have to be chipped, or will you still have the option of using cash?
