I remember in college, a friend and I going to the grocery store late at night for whatever snacks, and one night coming to a product called “1 whole chicken in a can”. The picture of the chicken on the can was grotesque. It was in a can the size of a large V8 can. It was amazing after that night, how it became a weekly thing to stop by that shelf, to see if anyone had actually moved one of those cans.

The nastiest thing people eat over here is a Filipino dish called a Balut.

It’s a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside. (A premature baby duck) It’s nice and crunchy because although the baby duck is still developing, it already has the beak, feet, feathers and bones. Supposedly… It’s very nutritious and has lots of calcium and protein. It’s also rumored to help give you a woody.
