How much would you pay to be #1?

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

I’m seeking to test a pricing experiment.

What if I said I wouldn’t charge you dime unless you reached your ranking goals?

I’m asking everyone out there (who would consider hiring us), how much would you pay (monthly) to be #1? to be in the top 10? How much for rankings between 1 and 10? for how many keywords? How much per word?

Just create a table showing the URL(s), keyword phrases, and prices per rank you’d pay monthly.

I’ll choose 1 site/person who submits a good proposal to me by the end of next week. If we agree to take on your project, Sign a contract, and you won’t be charged a dime until ranking goals are met, then you paid agreed amount for stated rankings each month.

How much would you pay to be ranked for what phrases?

Feel free to email your proposal to me at my-first-name @ we build pages.com. FYI, start date will be Nov 15th.

BTW, What do you think about this idea?

What’s up in the world of Jim and We Build Pages?

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

I was away last week so this week it catch-up. Things are moving fast for ole Jimmy here. Seems like a lot of my time is now totally scheduled. Never a dull moment. Since I’ve not been blogging much lately I thought I’d give a run down on some of the things here that have been on my mind lately. Just because I’m being quiet, doesn’t mean nothings going on….in fact, it’s quite the opposite.

Blogging:
I feel bad for hardly posting…..seems I’ve said so much already, all I’ve got left to say are the things I’d never say publically. (I can still hear Todd saying, "Stay under the radar Jim!").

SEO Tools:
The past 3 months we’ve been building our own private tools, so nothing has been going public….and all the tools I’ve got in mind for the near future are also all going to have to be private tools as well.

We Build Pages Business:
Maybe I shouldn’t say this…but we hit our 8 month client goal in the first 9 weeks of this year (also having many existing clients increase their investment with us helped us to reach this goal too).
I wasn’t planning on hiring much more now, but with the remainder of the ninja’s time, I’d almost rather put into investing more on our own sites (ya know, them old sites ;) ), rather than taking on many more new clients….we’re exploring many things in this area ;) …. but in any case, it looks really good what ever direction we move in there.

Link Ninjas and SEO Pow Wow:
Stay tuned for something Huge going on here. What would you say to tons of training videos, a private Jim’s blog (where I don’t hold back….much ;) , Private We Build Pages tools, online training manuals, and more?

Linking:
Not sure what to say… 17 full time link builders….it’s a hell of an unmolested and under the radar site database that’s also being created…nothing more I can say there.

Wife and kids:
All fine. Sam and Nate are growing like mad. Nate’s still not sleeping through the night (I’m on binky duty (3-4 times each night)), and often up at 6 (if Mary feeds him once during the night, I’ve got the second (if he wakes up before 7)

So next week is SES NYC.
Today Joe Morin posted the official SES NYC 2007 Party Event and Schedule.

The big debate here was to go to NYC alone, or to bring the Ninja team. Bringing the team is pretty expensive, so instead we decided to rent tour busses and take trips each month to: Boston (3 hours), Montreal (3 hours), NYC (3 hours), and Niagra Falls (6 hours). Those 4 trips combined would cost the same as bringing a small ninja army to SES NYC for one night….and I think our team would rather the trips where we can "bond" rather than "sell".

I’m thinking of only spending Monday and Tuesday nights in NYC….we’ll see. On Monday night there’s a Charity Party open to all ($40 donation at door) being hosted by the Internet Marketers of New York. I’m hoping to catch that and maybe Tuesday I can luck my way into some other party too.

Cheers!

Clients investing more in We Build Pages and I’m Happy!

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I’m on a high, wanna know why?

Many of our existing clients have been increasing their monthly budgets…today alone we had 3 clients invest a lot more in our services than they had been investing. Here’s some additional that’s coming in for us from just a few days here:

  • Yesterday once client increased his budget by a very large amount.
  • This morning one client doubled thier monthly budget.
  • And this afternoon another client doubled their monthly spend.
  • I just got off the phone with another who is trippling their budget for one month, then doubling.
  • Tomorrow I’ve got an all day meeting with another client who, if all goes well, will also be doubling his budget.
  • Monday I’ve got another meeting with a client who might also be majorlly increasing thier monthly spend.

Please don’t think I’m bragging…though I have had a skip in my walk the past few days. I am happy, and I hope you don’t mind my sharing.

All these clients have been clients for between ~10 months to 4 years.

  • One of these site has totally dominated his keyword industry for about 2 years now. Over the past year they’ve grown from 8 to 25 employees. They are a 100% online shop.
  • Another of these sites is from a extremly knowledgable SEO….he’s awesome. He understand what we do, he can do it himself, but he just doesn’t have time. He’s now giving us more sites to work with. He’s a Ninja himself.
  • Another one of these guys also dominates his industry and have just given us another site to work with.
  • One client is a very old client with so-so rankings…they once dominated (Pre Florida), and are going from a tiny budget to a small budget (but I think I can get them back with this added budget…not too competitive market).
  • Another of these clients also dominates thier industry. Their biggest competitor has tried to sign us on but we’re won’t work with competitors. This client has some really good SEO’s on staff who also work at the art of link building.
  • Another client has several phrases in the top 5, but really needs more time ($) invested to crack the #1’s.

I think a large part of this success has been a mixture of increasing their rankings (which drives an increase in their ROI), as well as really good reporting and client communication from us to them. Most of these clients have been telling me that they love the reporting and new communication methods that they’re getting from us, in addition to the nice rankings.

We have 4 link building teams here. Each team has 4 link ninjas and one designer.  Clients are assigned to a team and they also communicate with the team leaders and have conference calls with the teams.  Each month we update the client reports as well.

I’ve got a sample monthly link building client report….it’s a bit dated (they’ve improved since Oct 06), but you can see we do more than just build links, we analyze several aspects of their website and backlinks and we provide a lot of solutions.

We’re also honest about what we’ve been doing with their time, as well as what ads we’ve been able to achieve for the client. I personally don’t know any other competitor who’s services are so transparent.

And the nicest thing is that everything we’ve been building over the last year here has come together so nicely….personally I’m having a great time ….clients are happy, employees are happy, and I’ve never felt better…Man, I’m really feeling lucky!

Taking a Blog Break for 5-6 weeks.

Friday, October 20th, 2006

This next month I’ll be busier than I’ve ever been….so I’ll be taking a break from blogging for a little over a month.

Next week I’ll be locking myself in my office while I work on rewriting webuildpages.com. There’s so many services on there there that are outdated, and we haven’t even shown off our "writing content" side. I’ve been rewriting it for months now, and have collected a ton of chicken scratch, but I’ve realized that the only way it’s going to all get written is if I take a whole week devoted to mainly writing this out  (then ~2 weeks to design around (we’ve got a new look coming too).

I’ve got a handful of new employees that I’ve been  training on a daily basis (we’re making more Link Ninjas). We’ve also been video taping the training sessons, and assigning projects based on each training lesson.  One day we might just sell those training videos.

We’ve also got a great programmer on staff and we’re creating great internal tools for tracking and recording our work and progress. And creating the world best (and non-shared) database of great sites willing to offer advertising where related.

My wife is also getting rather plump, as our second baby is due Nov 16 (and I’m predicting Nov 9th…which is 3 weeks from today)….

I guess that one of the items I don’t need to worry about for about 5 weeks is going to be my blog. So yes, I’ll be taking ~5 weeks off from blogging.

I was thinking that when I return I might start blogging more on "Here’s how to build links….do this, and then this, etc" as opposed to "This is a great backlink to get….now go get them" postings.

I’m also toying with the idea of charging a small fee which allows you to read those complete posts (part free…."to read the rest, please subscribe here")…I could also throw in some private tools into that (no, not the "find old sites tool"…but other tools that are Killer…just private). Thougths on that?

I’ll, of course, post when the baby comes as well, and perhaps a thing or 2 in the coming 4-5 weeks….

Oh yea, and looks like there’ll be a Link Ninja class in a few months…stay tuned.

We’ve got openings for 7 new link building clients over the next 2 months, want to be one of them?

SEO Content Creation Services - a CEO Post.

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

I’ve been blogging for 10 months now, and have yet to do a CEO Post (A "Sales" Post). I’ve been happy not having to "push" my services onto other people, but to rather just "give" information "freely" (and as a side result, it’s brought be more qualified leads than even webuildpages.com brings in - really a Very pleasant suprise!).

But We Build Pages has 2 new services that we’re about to be coming out with, so I thought I’d do my first CEO Post and show you one of these new service. I’ve got a page with a rough draft of writing I’d like to show you (maybe with your imput I can write a good sales page that answers questions people might have) (can you help me out by at least adding a "sales" suggestion for me?)

We Build Pages will "officially" be offering "SEO Content Creation Services" in the coming days. (So as a blog reader you’ve got the chance to get in before it gets crazy busy, ensuring you the best service ;) )

So I’ve got a first "rough draft" of the writing - perhaps you’ve got ideas or questions.

You’ll also get a peek at the new design (still under construction) of the new webuildpages.com (coming in a few weeks).

Here’s the SEO Content Creation Service we’re about to be "officially" offering. We’ll also be advertising on many other SEO sites, piping up this service so the world knows that We Build Pages is not only the link guys, but also has the best content writing services on the web, at the best prices.

Stay tuned for the Threadwatch ad where I’ll also be giving away some content writing packages so we’ve got some public reviews.

Hey, our name "We Build Pages" now makes sense again!
